When Birds Hush

It is in this place at my house where birds awaken us in chorus. The song goes, "He speaks and the birds hush their singing." I love this little place on our back deck snuggled up against a creek and a wooded area. We have seen a whole family of deer. Occasionally foxes, raccoons, even a neighborhood skunk travel through. ;( But best of all it is teeming with the sounds of a multitude of birds. I often wonder whether we will know what they are saying in that New Earth the Bible so often tells us about.

To be honest, I have trouble 'hushing' my own self to listen. But occasionally I am quiet enough to understand why the birds hush. It is an awesome thing to be in relationship with the Creator. He so wants to talk with us. I pray I will learn to speak less and hear better. Many of my friends are grieving and my prayer for them is to know the sound of His voice this day.

Pretty picture Mom. You can just "see" the hush, the peacefulness. Very lovely post!

Have spent many a morning sitting here myself. I am reminded of my parents who sat out on their deck at their Ozarks cabin to wait and watch the street light come on. But you're right, it's the birds that give this place a sacredness.
