What A Day in Kansas

Yeah! The call came about our car. Looks like it will be fixed by next Wednesday. Our rental is nice but not as comfortable as our own car. Anyway, no big deal. We are glad to have something to drive without our own expense. ; )

I made a couple of fresh peach pies this morning. Company's coming tonight and that calls for dessert doesn't it? Besides that, peaches won't be available much longer. Since I love fruit (all kinds) that is disappointing.

Where has the summer gone? It's a fabulous day in Kansas. Who ever thought we would stay in the 80s and below in August - are we really in Kansas?? I know, I know - we still have the rest of August and September to go. But what a delight the first half of August has been. This is truly the 'day' the Lord has made. Hope your day is as great as ours.

Now you just need a picture of one of those peach pies! I just got back from the Farmer's Market and had bought a small one. Actually, I think it's cobbler. I bought yummy tomatoes (3 kinds), corn, g. beans, hummus, pita bread, flowers. I found a new store in Old Town called the Spice Merchant. Very, very neat with lots of rubs and spices and teas. We'll go next time you visit.

You're right. It was a beautiful pie, in fact I thought it looked better than it tasted. I still have another shell waiting. Sometime this week before the peaches leave us for the year. I still need to learn how to do stuff on here. I'll look forward to the F.M. with you. Yummmmm
